A total of 115 people attended the first public seminar called "Climate Change: Any Questions?" held at Guilhall in York on Thursday 8 February 2007.
Residents from York and North Yorkshire had the opportunity to ask a distinguished panels of experts representing science, policy, regulatory agency and business sectors questions on climate change.
The meeting was chaired by BBC Radio York's presenter, Elly Fiorentini. The panel consisted of Sir John Lawton, Chair of the prestigious Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution, Dr Caroline Lucas, Member of the European Parliament for the Green Party, Mr Craig McGarvey, Dales Area Manager for the Environment Agency and Mr Tom Oxley, Coporate Social Responsibility Manager, Norwich Union.
The event was attended by the Lord Mayor of York and the Civic Party and was supported by the City of York Council. Refreshments were donated by Taylors of Harrogate.
The meeting was broadcast on BBC Radio York on Monday 12 February 2007.
