The Carbon Footprint of an Average UK Citizen

climate talk photograph The carbon footprint covers both an individual?s direct emissions (e.g. domestic heating and car use) as well as indirect emissions arising in the supply chain at home and abroad during the production of the final goods and services that they consume (e.g. food, clothing or consumables).

Each UK citizen produces approximately 11.81 tonnes of CO2 per annum.

This is equivalent in weight to the size of two African elephants.
